Armoured Cruiser (said to be the world's first Armoured Cruiser),FS Dupuy de Lome pictured fitting out at Arsenal de Brest c1892 with original blueprint.

A typical French design of the time. IIRC, about 2 feet shorter than a WW2 USN FLETCHER class destroyer! The FLETCHERs crammed far fewer men into their hulls. ;) DFO
