Here she is at the Fore River yard in 1927. ;) Of the early capital ship RN (3), IJN (2), French (1) and USN (2) conversions I would submit that the SARA and LEX were the most successful. Altho from a combat useage pov a case could be made for RN's FURIOUS! ;) DFO
