Russian Federation Ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov was part of the 70th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of the Atlantic in Liverpool, England in May 2013.

Berthed alongside the Liverpool Cruise Terminal, she was one of three ships open to visitors, so along with grandsons #1 and #3 I took the opportunity to have a look around. There follows a selection of/from the photographs we took.

Nice shots of the UDALOY..... As the Russians still depend on them........best to stay friendly with the PLAN!

Given that their other 80s vintage class has proven to be unreliable, but they do SMOKE good!!! plus they have apparently had numerous problems getting the first GORSHKOV ffg into service.......DFO

GR8 shots!!! Were you able to go below decks and see interior, or parts thereof?? Which ships were with her? DFO

Thanks Dennis I still have more photos to add. Only the upper deck was available to visitors on both the Russian and Polish ships unlike the RAN ship where the bridge and hangar were accessible. Trinity House did not permit any visitors on their ship.

The four ships tied up at Liverpool Cruise Terminal were:-
Berthed inboard - RFS Vice-Admiral Kulakov with Trinity House Flagship THV 'Patricia' outboard (both facing east/ upstream )

Berthed inboard - HMCS Iroquios with Polish Naval Ship ORP Generał Tadeusz Kościuszko an Oliver Hazard Perry-class formerly USS Wadsworth (FFG-9) outboard (both facing west/downstream)

HMS Bulwark was berthed elsewhere in the dock complex and was completely out of bounds to the general public (although I did try).

Well they certainly look the part Dennis , lets hope your right if push comes to shove eh

Thanks for the info; look forward to seeing your other photos!! Rather hard to see warships in N. Indiana, @ 900+ miles from nearest ocean!! Altho I did walk on a OHP up in New Buffalo (?), MI quite a few years back. DFO
