Cruisers: Post War
Started before, but finished after WW2, the DE RUYTER and her sister emerged as well equipped 1950s vintage light cruisers. However, how they would have fared one on one with a sov SVERDLOV is open to debate! DFO

Were they interned during the war or just abandoned where they were Dennis ?

They were on slips in Holland. Redesigned and completed postwar. Both sold to Peru. DZP had her Terriers and guidance radars pulled; converted to carry helos. DE RUYTER served as the last ALL GUN cruiser in the world until quite recently. DFO

Here is a very interesting shot from post 1964 as the De Zeven Provencien was a CLG! The core of the Dutch Navy at that point. DFO
