HMS St Vincent
HMS St Vincent was opened at the former Forton Barracks site at Gosport in Hampshire in 1927 as a training establishment for boys and juniors.
During the Second World War the boys were evacuated to the Isle of Man in 1939 and the site became a training establishment for officers of the Fleet Air Arm, and an overflow accommodation site for the Royal Naval Barracks at Portsmouth. A signal and torpedo school was also opened on the site.
After the war, HMS St Vincent reopened for the training of boys and juniors on 1st December 1945 and it continued in that role until 1968, and the white ensign was lowered for the last time in 1969. The training role was then passed to HMS Ganges and HMS Raleigh.

I've probably put these in the wrong shore base but believe them to have been St Vincent as they formed part of Chalky's collection unearthed , and thought they might stir a few memories amongst the old hands

They could be St Vincent Ivor but the images are very small, do you have larger versions?ivorthediver wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:34 pm I've probably put these in the wrong shore base but believe them to have been St Vincent as they formed part of Chalky's collection unearthed , and thought they might stir a few memories amongst the old hands

Re: HMS St Vincent
From the 15th May to 2nd July 1966 ... I spent at St Vincent , a few weeks after finishing my training at Raleigh.
All the time was spent in Guard Training for London and a guard in Pompey ...
By the time it was over , I was sick and tired of all the Up two three , and so on ...
So glad to get a draft to the Far east , up and away by plane ...
I am stood at end , back row .. a very young sprog

Re: HMS St Vincent
I had a similar "Up two three, over two three, down two three" experience at Collinwood in 1967 for the state visit of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.
