RN Submarines: C Class 1905

A Class of 38 submarines, the last of the petrol driven boats, built by Vickers at Barrow and HM Dockyard at Chatham. Built between 1905 and 1910.
C11 was lost off Cromer in 1911 after colliding with the Collier Eddystone. The remainder all served in the First World war, with the following casualties:
C26, C27 and C35 were all scuttled off Helsinki in 1918 to avoid capture.
C29 was sunk by a mine in the Humber Estuary in 1915.
C31 was sunk by a mine off Zeebrugge in 1915.
C32 ran aground and was blown up to avoid capture in 1917.
C33 was sunk by a mine off Great Yarmouth in 1915.
C35 was sunk by a German submarine off Fair Isle, while on the surface, in 1917.
