Interesting shot her build start!! ;) Here are a few from start to finish of her career, including being part of the Great White Fleet. Of USN pre-dreadnoughts this class is about the best of USN's. Fire control must have been a joy, given her 7" and 8" secondary guns plus the 4-12". :o DFO

Lead Ship,Battleship USS Connecticut pictured c1907.
Connecticut was ordered on July 1st 1902. On October 15th 1902, she was awarded to the New York Naval Shipyard at Brooklyn. She was laid down on March 10th 1903 and launched on September 29th 1904.A crowd of over 30,000 people attended the launch,as did many of the Navy's ships. The Battleships Texas, Massachusetts, Iowa, Kearsarge, Illinois, Alabama, Maine, and Missouri were at the ceremony, along with the Protected Cruisers Columbia and Minneapolis and the Auxiliary Cruiser Prairie.
Three attempts to sabotage the ship were discovered in 1904. On March 31st, rivets on the keel plates were found bored through. On September 14th, a 1 3⁄8 in bolt was found driven into the launching way, where it protruded some 5 in.Shortly after she was launched on September 29th, a 1 in diameter hole was discovered drilled through a 5⁄8 in steel keel plate. Her watertight compartments and pumps prevented her from sinking, and all damage was repaired. The incidents prompted the Navy to post armed guards at the Shipyard, and an overnight watch was kept by a Navy tug manned by Marines who had orders to shoot to kill any unauthorized person attempting to approach the ship. She was only 55% complete when she was launched, missing most of her upper works, protection, machinery and armament, it was two years before she was commissioned on September 29th 1906.She sailed out of New York for the first time on December 15th 1906, becoming the first ship in the US Navy to ever go to sea without a sea trial.
