Cup anemometers are apparently calibrated at regular periods using a wind tunnel etc. I would have to do a bit of revision to ascertain if the ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensors needed regular calibration.

Not back on form Ivor (never really lost it mate ha-ha) just a glitch in my good lady's condition has given me a short window of opportunity to respond to some posts..... sorry it may not last as life is quite difficult here.

Will try to keep a listening watch though.

The medical complex inside RFA Argus

When not operating as a PCRF, RFA Argus provides a large flight deck with specialist aviation training to the helicopter pilots of the Fleet Air Arm. The ship is fitted with its own mini Air Traffic Control centre from which flight operations are managed.
RFA Argus does not comply with the Geneva Convention’s definition of a ‘hospital ship’ as she is fitted with self-defence guns and decoys and may have operational units embarked.
The core ship’s company of RFA Argus is 96 Officers and Crew of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and 55 Officers and Ratings of the Royal Navy. The ship is commanded by Captain Richard Davies.
