Dido Class Light AA Cruiser HMS Hermione pictured in January 1942..She was built at Alexander Stephen & Sons Shipyard, Glasgow with the keel laid down on October 6th 1937. She was launched on May 18th 1939 and commissioned March 25th 1941. On June 16th 1942, Hermione was torpedoed and sunk by Type VIIC Submarine U-205 in the Mediterranean. Eighty-eight crewmembers were killed.

Dido Class Light AA Cruiser HMS Bonaventure pictured in 1941...On March 31st 1941 Bonaventure was hit amidships by two torpedoes launched by Italian Perla Class Submarine RM Ambra and sank south of Crete with the loss of 139 of her 480 crew. 310 survivors were rescued by HMS Hereward and HMAS Stuart. She was the largest warship sunk by an Italian Submarine in World War II.

Dido Class Light AA Cruiser HMS Hermione pictured in the Mediterranean in September 1941...She would be torpedoed and sunk by Type VIIC U-Boat U-205 on June 16th 1942, eight officers and 80 ratings were lost....RIP Lest We Forget.
