A small note, the LÉ is all capitals in Irish naval ship names, it stands for ‘Long Éireannach’ in Irish translating as ‘Irish Ship’.

Irish patrol vessels ‘needed to deal with tensions’ over fishing
Irish Naval Service warships will be needed to deal with tensions at sea between Irish and British fishing vessels, the Irish Parliament has been told.
Foreign Affairs and Defence Minister Simon Coveney warned that there would be “tensions between fleets” in the event of no trade deal being agreed between Britain and the EU, with local media raising prospects of confrontations akin to the Cod Wars between British and Icelandic fishermen in 1973 in which vessels were damaged.
Coveney was quoted as saying:

Re: Irish Naval Service
I guess we could expect no less from the Irish after we leave to EU . After all , wasn't it they who granted access to Hitler's UBoats during WWII ....... they are only echoing that lot across the Channel .
Come on UK ...... take back our waters ... we know how to fight a Cod War .

Re: Irish Naval Service
Ireland's Naval Service marks its 75th anniversary
Although Ireland gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1922, it was not until 1938 that the young state gained control of its own waters.
The early task of the Marine and Coastwatching Service was to protect Ireland's neutrality during World War Two, but in 1946 the service became the permanent maritime component of the Irish Defence Forces.
Over the next 75 years, the service's responsibilities have expanded to include everything from intelligence gathering, surveillance and maritime interdiction - including drug enforcement - to search and rescue and fishery protection.
