I would suggest that the closeup of her ROUNDED bridge house front was a earlier view. The 45 view shows her later, squared off front. Both are fine views of her that I had not seen before! :)

Below is how she looked ('68) when I first saw her at the Long Beach Naval Yard. DFO

The view on the right is definitely 24 June '45 when she was being inclined during her last wartime refit. As Dennis noted, the "round bridge" has to be earlier than that -- possibly when she first came to Puget Sound for refit. She also lost her MS 22 paint job at this time, being done up in the same paint scheme as the other three Iowa's. Iowa and New Jersey both had the rounded bridge when completed. Missouri and Wisconsin had the later squared off bridge from the start.

Actually, for a short time, IOWA did not have that raised, rounded bridge front!! ;) If I ever build her, this will be the "look". DFO

NEW JERSEY, Viet Nam era and getting ready...1982. Note the 3 16" shells in flight. :D NGFS the grunts can use!!! She and her sisters were hard to destroy self contained weapon systems. Particularly after their Regan era updates. DFO
