Yes.......... I'm sure your right Dennis , but it would be just deserts had they subjected them to a fraction of that which they inflicted on the masses ......The only one I'm aware of was Mussolini sadly .

Poking around in my "WW II Pacific Battles" files and found some photos of the re-purposed 50 cal Type 3 No. 1 7.9 inch guns from Kako and Furutaka on Kiribati and Betio in the Gilbert Islands.

Waste not...want not! Almost like pulling triple 6.1" turrets off the MOGAMIs for use on YAMATO, MUSHASHI and OYODO.

Interesting coast defense weapons! The Sovs did the same with several triple 12" turrets; kept active at least thru the 50s. DFO

A shot of TAIHO and one of the SHOKAKUs in May '44. Also, TAIHO and NAGATO. :) She was the only IJN carrier with a enclosed, "hurricane" bow.

The only really clear "pictures" are very detailed Polish cgi renderings....... DFO

That shot with Nagato I had not seen before. Very few photos of Taiho, and all but one apparently at Tawi Tawi in May of '44. Her active service life was three months, which didn't leave much time for a centerfold in Maru Special. She did make the cover once though...

More fun with the IJN photo stash...

And one more from the smaller ship collection -- the old destroyer Sawakaze fitted with a rocket launcher in place of No. 1. mount. As far as I can tell, this was the only rocket launcher fitted to a ship other than aircraft carriers and battleships and may well have been the "test unit" for these weapons, which apparently weren't very effective in action if the bottomed battleships and carriers at Kure at the end of the war are any indication. This must be a post-war photograph.
