FC/ASW missile to be compatible with Mk41 VLS

It has been confirmed that the missiles resulting from the Future Cruise/Anti-Ship Weapon (FC/ASW) programme will be compatible with the Mark 41 vertical launch system.
The Mk 41 Vertical Launching System is a modular, below deck sited, missile launcher system that makes use of silos to launch and store missiles. The UK intends to use it on the Type 26 Frigate.

Did you know that new frigate HMS Glasgow has giant 'catalytic reactors' (converters) to save the Ozone layer?
They scrub exhaust fumes of some key toxins, drastically reducing the environmental impact of the Type 26 warship, currently under construction on the Clyde.
To mark British Science Week, we're celebrating Glasgow's green credentials - and some of the tech which is helping to minimise the impact on the environment of the RN's latest warships.

interesting point David .

Our recently purchased diesel car has the "Ad-Blue " metering/ dilution system fitted and whilst all in favour of cleaning up the planet , one wonders why this additive is not sufficient to appease environmentalists ?

I am awaiting the pending crunch on diesel with interest and wonder what practical commercial replacement will surface other than electric which is currently impractical in its application

Despite new strategic situation, no defence spending increase announced by Chancellor this week.
No plan to speed up delivery of Type 26 frigates - average 1 ship every 18 months (from 2026/7). “the optimum that can be achieved” according to Minister

Falkland veterans were invited to a glimpse of the first Type 26 frigate – HMS Glasgow – which is currently under construction in BAE Systems’ Glasgow shipyard.
The 44 veterans all served on the previous HMS Glasgow which saw action during the Falklands War in 1982.

Here's the naval shipbuilding plan for Scottish shipyards for the period covering 2015 out to 2035, including the status of each programme. It is expected that 24 warships will be launched from Scottish shipyards during this period, including one export order.

The Type 26 Frigate could be the most capable British warship in decades

The Type 26 Frigate has the potential to be one of the most capable warships the Royal Navy has owned in decades but only if funded appropriately.

The City class will replace 8 of the 13 Type 23 frigates of the Royal Navy and export orders are being sought after by BAE. The programme has been underway since 1998, initially under the name ‘Future Surface Combatant’. The programme was brought forward in the 2008 budget at the expense of Type 45 destroyers 7 and 8.

Frigate factory could be coming to the Clyde

With the news that welds on the first Type 26 Frigate are deforming because the ship is being assembled outside, more information has emerged over plans to build a ‘frigate factory’ on the Clyde.
There’s already a ‘frigate factory’ at Rosyth but the Clyde had earlier hoped to get one, you can read more about that here.
Ian Waddell, General Secretary of the Confederation of Shipbuilding and Engineering Unions, said when giving evidence on shipbuilding to the Defence Committee:
