* HISTORIC VESSEL FOR SALE *
SENORA (48 ft motor yacht, 1908)
Under restoration by the Señora Trust in Sunderland since 2016. The Trust is now in the process of winding up and is offering Senora for a nominal fee of £1 plus transport costs to a charity/ CIC to complete her restoration for community benefit. They will also consider expressions of interest from private owners, price negotiable.
SENORA is a ketch rigged yacht designed by Alfred Mylne and built by Archibald Malcolm on the Isle of Bute. She is believed to have served in both world wars. A previous owner was the former P&O Chairman, Lord Inchcape. At one time she had a 3 cylinder Gardner paraffin engine which was technically advanced for her time.
Senora is stored under cover and has been since 2016. Her interior has been removed and preserved for re-fitting or to be used as templates. After inspection in May 2023 by a timber expert and discussion with the national Timber experts at BMTrada, the Trust understand that re-moisturising her is a feasible operation and will close her seams. She was inspected in April 2023 by a local expert boatbuilder and her deadwood and keel are in good condition.
