Pre-Dreadnought Battleships: Andrei Pervozvanny Class

Unread post by Brian James »

Andrei Pervozvanny Class Pre-Dreadnought Battleship Imperator Pavel I pictured c1912...Built at Baltic Shipyards, Saint Petersburg and commissioned in 1911. Her construction was greatly delayed by design changes as a result of the Russo-Japanese War and labour unrest after the 1905 Revolution, and she took nearly six years to build. She was not very active during WWI and her bored sailors were the first to mutiny in early 1917. The ship was laid up in 1918 and she was scrapped in 1923........*Note one of the only non USN BBs I have seen with cage masts.
