Falklands warship launched in 1973 to be turned into museum

The HMS Ambuscade has been decommissioned by the Pakistan Navy and will become a shipbuilding museum in Glasgow.

i hope they find enough money to maintain her in good condition, this is always a real problem for preserved ships.

HMS Ambuscade: Bid to bring ex-Royal Navy ship to Greenock

AN ambitious project to repatriate a former Royal Navy warship and dock it at Greenock for use as a floating maritime heritage museum could bring dozens of jobs and thousands of visitors to Inverclyde, organisers have claimed.

Transfer of ex-PNS Tariq (ex-HMS Ambuscade) from Pakistan to Glasgow has delayed because ship kept in service longer than anticipated and🇬🇧🇵🇰govts made last-minute changes to terms of transfer.

A generous deal to provide a lift ship for the voyage has been offered. Expect her to come home around April/May 2024.

Clyde Naval Heritage sets sail to return HMS Ambuscade

Clyde Naval Heritage (HMS Ambuscade/PNS Tariq) has proudly announced its fundraising campaign to bring back HMS Ambuscade, presently known as PNS Tariq, from Pakistan to the River Clyde.

Marking a gesture of goodwill and cooperation, the Pakistan Navy has gifted the decommissioned PNS Tariq, once HMS Ambuscade, to Clyde Naval Heritage.
