Hospital Ships WWI

Russian Hospital Ship Rus' pictured at Helsinki in 1918..She was built at Barclay Curle & Co Ltd Shipyards, Glasgow and completed in 1909 when she was transferred to the Russian East Asiatic Co and named Rossiya. In 1914 she was commandeered by the IRN and converted to a Hospital Ship and re-named Rus' (Русь). 1919 transferred to A/S Det Østasiatiske KompagniFlag: Denmark
1921 transferred to Baltic American Line, renamed Latvia December 24th 1923 sold to Osaka Shosen Kaisha, renamed Fuso
1938 changed name to Huso Maru ...... 1941 November commandeered by the Imperial Japanese Army...1942 converted to Hospital Ship..July 31st 1944 torpedoed and sunk by Gato Class Submarine USS Steelhead off the north of Luzon.
