USS Zumwalt DDG1000 changes her look from super silky (stealthy)....

to cheesy

then lumpy

Bringing renewed hope to all 'aerial and array' observers ;) :)

UHF =ultra high frequency :D

SEWP " " "

SPY 3 " " "

EHF = Extremely High Frequency
CEC = Cooperative Engagement Capability
IFF = Identification Friend or Foe
X/Ka = Also worth noting, although it may not significantly impact the radar cross-section of the ship, is the bubble like structure atop the deckhouse and forward of the ships flush-mounted exhaust. This houses the X/Ka band satellite communications antenna system. Source The/Drive (where some of the images came from)
SPY-3 = AN/SPY-3 active electronically scanned array radar
SEWIP = Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program

Oops nearly missed this one off the list:-
CEWE = Component Electro-Optical Windows Enclosure(s)
(the diagram carries expansion as = Electro-Optical Window Enclosure)

Thank you Harry , very grateful for your help, as I knew that if it consumed electricity YOU would know all about it .
I realise its a front line asset [ and not much chance of a Haynes Manual on this type] but after all the blustering and proclamation of how good it was / is it is a bit like a damp squid , aggravated by the huge overplay of its fighting capability with graphic images of its potential capabilities and not being able to afford the munitions ;)

A bit like stating they have developed telescopic sites for a blowpipe .......what a frustrating expense which is unaffordable to operate :oops: ....I shall be getting an earful from Dennis for that comment :o

Still all that aside Harry thank you for your efforts to educate me / US on the Forum and the time to do so ;)

Aah Yes - One big problem .... the erstwhile stealthy 'destoryer' .... it tends to be a tad scrambled ;)
