FROM APPLEDORE TO LITHUNIA

Ex-HMS Quorn arriving at Appledore shipyard at High Water this morning to begin £55m refit before delivery to the Lithuanian Navy in 2024.
Project will support 100 jobs at the yard + 14 major subcontract packages. Work includes upgrades to mission & sonar systems adding search & rescue capability. New main engines, generators and propulsion gear, refurbishment of accommodation, hull, ancillary and electrical systems.

A small step but good to see Appledore back in the naval work business.

Ex-HMS Quorn has now been brought into the covered dock to begin major work package.

Last month new engines were installed in ex-HMS Quorn being refurbished for the Lithuanian Navy by Harland Wolff plc
Appledore - project due to be completed this Summer.
