OK I concede . Served on two of them -- Verulam & Undine.

What was the 27 on the funnel indicative of Don please , not seen that before

Funnel numbers indicated the Squadron/Flotilla that a ship was in. Another style was to have an image, such as a red hand (for the Londonderry Squadron) or a Dhow (for the Persian Gulf Squadron), etc.
