I remember seeing the VALLEY FORGE in NYC in 1956 during a Saturday trip into the city with my dad. That, among other ship related things, helped jump start my decades long interest in warships.
When I refurbished my old scratch built tiny model of the VF I found a few pics of her as a Marine helo carrier; which is the way I modeled her.
The scale is the old JFS 1"=128'/1:1536, DFO
