Submarines: O19 Class

O 19-Class Submarine HNLMS O20 pictured on October 2nd 1939...Built at Wilton-Fijenoord Shipyards at Scheidam, Rotterdam and commissioned on August 28th 1939, O 20 along with her sister ship O 19 were the first boats in the world to be equipped with a Submarine snorkel that allowed the Submarine to run its diesel engines while submerged. She was sunk 35 nautical miles North-East of Kota Baru, Malaysia on December 19th 1941
