I can remember my father taking Hermes to Lankawi for a banyan in the mid Sixties when it was a pretty much unspoilt, undeveloped island paradise. When I worked out East the company that employed me was part owned by a Malaysian development company who were given the rights to develop the Island to the very popular resort it is now. I have never been, and almost certainly never will! speak up those who enjoyed it back in the day??
