Very understated were their efforts during the last war considering what they had but used by them , can't fault their courage .

The BLYSKAWICKA and her sister were 2 large (by pre-war standards) British built DDs that had impressive specs. I wonder how many tons the survivor has added over the years from her many paint schemes? DFO

Jaskółka-Class Minesweepers ORP Rybitwa and ORP Czajka pictured at the Mobilisation Pier in Karlskrona,Sweden in 1932.The Jaskółka Class was a Class of 6 Minesweepers of the Polish Navy built at the Modlin Shipyard near Warsaw and at Gdansk during the 30's. They were the first sea going warships of Polish production. The Jaskółka Class was a versatile design which allowed the ships to serve in the role of either a Minesweeper, small Minelayer or a Sub Chaser.

Sammy Whites used her to advertise their qualities as a ship builder although quite who this might impress for future orders defeats me, it was 1943!

The ship has a special role in Cowes where she heroically participated in AA defence of the town during savage raids.
