Ships in Nelson's days were manned by many nationalities, there were many black sailors, one is depicted on a panel at the base of Nelson's column. Why are the "woke" so eager to make us ashamed of our past? I for one will always be proud of this country's heritage, warts & all.

The RN College bar walls were adorned by portraits of Victorian Admirals, a fearsome looking lot, bushy mutton chop whiskers & steely eyes!
