THE ARK
HMS Ark Royal arrives alongside in Portsmouth for the very last time. Fleet flagship HMS Ark Royal returned to her home port of Portsmouth for the final time on 3rd December 2010, ending 25 years of service to the Royal Navy across the globe. The aircraft carrier is being decommissioned early next year and sailed into Portsmouth Naval Base following a brief farewell tour of the UK and a stopover in Hamburg. In keeping with tradition she flew a decommissioning pennant.

HMS Illustrious sails from the Swan Hunter dockyard on the River Tyne in June 1982. HMS Ark Royal can be seen in the background fitting out.

August 28th 1982: Invincible and Illustrious join together in the Falklands for a staged photo and video shoot established as a display of regional power.
At around this time, the "Invincible was sunk" conspiracy theorists typically go into meltdown

Re: Royal Navy Aircraft Carriers: Invincible Class 1980
All 3 Invincible class carriers together at sea.
Possibly the only time this has happened.
This is possibly 1989 just after Invincibles's refit.
HMS Invincible (R05) is closest, then HMS Illustrious (R06) and then HMS Ark Royal (R07).
Generally, two were active while one was in maintenance.
