RN Submarines: A Class 1903

Unread post by jbryce1437 »

This Class comprised 13 submarines, all built by Vickers at Barrow in Furness.
These boats were powered by petrol engines when surfaced and batteries when submerged. Nearly half of the Class were involved in accidents of one sort or another and several saw service in World War One as harbour defence boats.
Many thanks to my old shipmate, QPRDAVE, for the press cuttings
