The first of three new locally built multi-mission inshore patrol vessels (MMIPVs) built under Project Biro was handed over to the South African Navy (SAN) on Wednesday May 18th in Simons Town. The delivery of P1571 (future SAS King Sekhukhune I) heralds a new era for both the local shipbuilding industry and the South African Navy.
