52 Stories of the Sea

Unread post by ivorthediver »

Recently acquired this book thought to be printed in 1910 by Commander E.P. Statham R.N.and comprises a collection of true sea tales of life aboard sailing ships with the odd story of naval steam paddle / sail vessels some from around 1700 and all illustrations have a clear fly sheet in front of the illustration to protect it . I have read about a third of the book and the terminology is old English colloquial phrases but not hard to fathom .
Its a hard back bound book with gilded edges to each page .the period is in my favourite time framed thoroughly enjoying it which is unusual in itself as I am an "Audiobook" freak and like to emerge myself in a Sea Caper with my headphones on and oblivious to my surroundings or Driving listening to them on the infotainment system installed in the car .........each to their own
