Unread post by Pelican »

THE ROYAL NAVY DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Vosper MTBs including MTB 224 and MTB 244 of the 21st Flotilla at speed in the River Orwell, off Shotley.

The Flotilla was based at Felixstowe and commanded by Lieutenant George J Macdonald DSO, DSC and two bars, RNZNVR of Wellington, New Zealand.

Photograph taken shortly before the Flotilla's remaining 71ft Vospers were paid off and replaced by the new 73ft Vosper in 1943.
