Iran Accidentally Sinks Fake Aircraft Carrier In Wrong Place

The saga of Iran’s fake aircraft carrier, intended as a propaganda coup, is turning into an own goal. The Iranian armed forces, particularly the IRGC-N (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy) delight in attacking the mock U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. It makes their war games more dramatic. And it may be intended to symbolize that they could, if called upon, sink an American carrier. The carrier itself, actually an elaborate target barge, is not intended to sink, however. It is meant to be reusable and has been symbolically ‘destroyed’ twice already. But now it really has sunk. And in very much the wrong place.

I.R.G.C.N.

Iran Inducts New Special Operations Ship - Emblazoned with the pennant number “1” in on its superstructure, Shahid Roudaki joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) as its latest and most visible warship during a ceremony held in Bandar Abbas on the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday.
Shahid Roudaki is 492 feet (150 meters) long and 72 feet (22m) across. This allows for an open deck that is large enough for a helicopter landing spot, together with multiple vehicles. The ship is defended by a 23mm anti-aircraft gun and multiple crew-served heavy machine guns. The IRGCN paraded an array of weapons systems on the deck for the ceremony.
These included:

Well, That's One Way To Tow a 2,300-Ton Submarine

Originally built by the Soviet Union, this Kilo-class submarine is returning to base by land (for some reason).
A video emerged of Iran’s Navy is towing an attack submarine.
The Russian-built submarine weighs more than 2,300 tons and is long as a jumbo jet.
The unnamed sub is one of three that makes up Iran’s oceangoing submarine force.
A new video from Iran shows a surreal scene. Iran is towing a giant attack submarine overland by truck, reportedly from a shipyard back to the sprawling Iranian naval base of Bandar Abbas. The sub is one of three purchased from the Soviet Union in the 1990s.

Iranian Navy’s Largest Ship Catches Fire and Sinks in Gulf of Oman

Kharg, an Iranian Navy training and logistics ship, caught fire in the Gulf of Oman in the early hours of Wednesday local time. After more than 20 hours of firefighting and rescue operations, the ship subsequently sank near the port of Jask. All 400 crew were rescued, with 33 reported injured. The Tasnim news agency, citing a statement from Iran’s navy, said that the ship had been deployed to international waters to participate in a naval exercise when “one of its systems” caught fire. The fire was reported to have started in the ship’s engine room.

Chinese and Iranian Warships are Fielding More and More Missiles

What is interesting is that China has retrofitted an older vessel with VLS, which raises the possibility that the Chinese Navy could arm its older destroyers and frigates with multiple launch tubes.
