The 25-year-old man had been onboard HMS Albion for the Aurora 23 defence exercise in Sweden, which took place between April 17 and May 11.
He had been on a night out with another member of the Armed Forces before they ended up with several Swedes at a house in Solna, northwest of Stockholm city centre, where the Brit was later found dead, according to Swedish publication Expressen.

British carrier launches jets for simulated combat missions

HMS Queen Elizabeth has launched F-35B jets into simulated combat as part of Exercise Cobra Warrior, a massive aerial exercise taking place over the North Sea.

The information comes via an official tweet from the UK Carrier Strike Group (@COMUKCSG) which noted that the cutting-edge F-35B jets have been actively involved in mock combat scenarios, including an Offensive Counter Air – Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (OCA-SEAD).

Exercise Cobra Warrior stands as one of the most important air drills in the UK’s military calendar, focusing on advanced tactical training and providing an opportunity for participating nations to bolster interoperability and combat skills in a controlled environment.

NATO conducts major electronic warfare exercise

Standing NATO Maritime Group Two (SNMG2) spearheaded an electronic warfare and anti-ship missile defence exercise called “Dynamic Guard” from Sept. 4-8 in the Alboran Sea, off Cartagena, Spain.
“Dynamic Guard 23-II” aimed to give Allied forces the opportunity to “test, train and enhance the techniques required to operate in a degraded or denied electro-magnetic environment.“

The NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Staff (JEWCS) lent its expertise to the drill by supplying specialist equipment and knowledge, crafting a lifelike electronic warfare situation.

Almost 1,000 personnel were involved, utilising several ships and aircraft, inclusive of SNMG2’s flagship, the ESPS Mendez Nunez (F104), and four additional Spanish vessels: ESPS Canarias (F86), ESPS Reina Sofia (F84), ESPS Cantabria (A15) and ESPS Vigia (P73).

British Falcon DA-20 aircraft and Spanish AV8B Harriers worked alongside the JEWCS-fitted ESPS Vigia, presenting a variety of genuine threats against which the Allied vessels were tested.
