Protected Cruisers: HNLMS Koningin Wilhelmina der Nederlanden

The unique Protected Cruiser HNLMS Koningin Wilhelmina der Nederlanden pictured fitting out at Rijkswerf Shipyards,Amsterdam in 1893 and at Den Helder in 1910.
She was named after Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, who attended the launch ceremony and christened her on October 22nd 1892. After the liquidation of the original builder, the Koninklijke Fabriek van Stoom- en andere Werktuigen in Amsterdam, construction of the ship was taken over by the Rijkswerf Shipyards.She was scrapped in March 1910.

A Krupp 11 inch L/30 C/86 gun destined as the main armament for Protected Cruiser HNLMS Koningin Wilhelmina, pictured arriving at Amsterdam Dockyard on a rail cart from the Krupp factory at Essen on March 24th 1894.
