Nice ones Harry . That would have been on her way home being relieved by us on Hermes , our trip returning home also started in Fremantle but we
had to steam 18 knots nonstop , carrying out repairs and full maintenance en route ending in Five Days leave each watch before sailing back East for the Aden Withdrawal . Not a really happy time for morale .

Yeh Dave, Ark Royal sailed up the west coast of Sumatra whilst we embarked on a Leander and sailed past Krakatau through Lombok Straits to exercise Freedom of Navigation - Confrontation and all that!

The attachments relate to our team boss getting a early transfer, before the rest of us transferred by ship's boat in the evening Dec 31st.
Note; the earlier Light Jackstay Transfer was unrelated to anything our team were doing.

Excellent Jim and thanks for sharing these priceless photos from your private collections , I appreciate your efforts even if others just assume it is their god given right :x

On reflection it was such a shame that the previous viewers like myself did not print copies just in case another disaster [ god forbid] should prevent us viewing them in the future ......again my thanks
