Sailors from HMS Dauntless and sailors and marines from HMS Raleigh held services of commemoration to mark the 80th anniversary of the storming of the German tanker Altmark.
The actions of 33 men from HMS Cossack entered immortality in a Norwegian fjord. By seizing the tanker they liberated 299 merchantmen held captive for several months, men captured during the raiding spree by Hitler's pocket battleship Graf Spee in the first three months of WW2.
