Nice to see a photo of the tug HENDON. She spent most of her time on the River Wear at Sunderland and was owned by France Fenwick from being built in 1924. Hendon is a district of Sunderland and the tug was a regular at launches from the many shipyards on the River Wear. She was chartered to Tyne Tugs in 1959.

The funnel markings show her as a France, Fenwick Tyne & Wear Co Ltd tugboat. She was chartered to Tyne Tugs in 1959 and the funnel probably changed to red with black boot topping.
