HMSM Alliance

Unread post by jbryce1437 »

History
HMS Alliance was one of the A or Amphion Class of diesel-electric submarines built from 1945. Of the proposed class of 46 boats, only 16 were completed and commissioned. All in the class were modernised in the 1950's and the last remained in service until the 1970's
Alliance was completed in 1947 and after withdrawal from service in 1973 she became the static training boat at HMS Dolphin at Gosport.
She has been a museum ship since 1981 and was restored in 2014. She is an exhibit at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum at Gosport and you can find out how to plan a visit to her here.
