Corvettes: Buyan M Class

The smaller (900 ton?) BUYAN M class seems to be a formidable little corvette, based on specs and SSM launches into Syria from Caspian Sea. How do they do it-pack the BIG punch in a small hull? What do they compromise, besides a useless 40+ knot speed and power plant to attain it? DFO

IIRC, a couple units of this class were the first Russian warships to launch SSMs, from the Caspian, into Syria. Potent small WARships. DFO
