Ironclads: Regina Maria Pia Class
Lead Ship,Broadside Ironclad Battleship RM Regina Maria Pia with sister ship RM San Martino pictured at Genoa c1870.Regina Maria Pia was built at French Shipyard Société Nouvelle des Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée in La Seyne. Her keel was laid down on July 22nd 1862 and her completed hull was launched on April 28th 1863. She was completed on April 17th 1864 and delivered to the Italian fleet in June 1866.
