TAUPO

This photo was taken from Taupo in 1950 as we both approached Stromboli.
We were transferring our mail for posting to the UK as she was soon detaching after a 3 month period working with us, the 3rd FF, along with Hawea, and would be calling in at Malta on their way home.
For info those 2 pairs of 'doors' kept the Boys mess nice and cool in the right conditions - Pelican was originally designed as a survey ship.

HMS Pelican 1938 - 1958 GGCV L86 U86 F86 What I Have I Hold ~ A wonderful bird is the Pelican its beak can hold more than its belly can.
