A design that has been produced in fair volume, used on pirate patrols, escorting carriers, etc. Seems to be a decent all around design. DFO

A PLAN Type 054A Frigate pictured firing her 240mm ASW depth charge rockets from its pair of Type 87 launchers.The Type 87 uses a six tube sonar controlled launcher. It launches 34 kg high explosive warhead depth charges with a range of 5km.
