Re: Problem Section
I am not sure if this is a problem or "finger trouble" on my part.
I don't seem able to add more than five attachments per post. Yet I see there are many posts with 10+ attachments. How is this done? Is there an alternative method adding them?
I am sure there will be a simple explanation.
Many thanks.

Re: Problem Section
Hello Bill, I just tried adding more than five attachments and did not have a problem. Jack informed me that he has tightened up the registration process and new members can only limited to certain threads and their first few posts will be subject to moderation. Having said that, I do not think that you will be in that category as none of your posts have required moderation.
The method that I use for attachments is to add my text, and if I need to insert an attachment, then go to the Attachment button below the text box and click on Add files and find the directory on my computer that holds the relevant image, click on it and then Open. The file is then uploaded.
To place the image within the text of your post, place the cursor in the blank space in the text and, in the Attachments section, click the button Place inline and the image will be placed within the text. When you are happy with your posts contents click on the Submit button. There was a recent problem which happened if you clicked on the Preview button, but I believe the issue was sorted.
As far as I am aware, there is no limit to the number of images that can accompany a post, so persevere and let me know if the problem continues and I will raise it with Jack.

Re: Problem Section
Thanks for the reply Jim. That is the method I have used.
I had the problem as recently as yesterday evening when posting photographs of HMS Frobisher on the Hawkins Class thread and had to split them into two posts.

Re: Problem Section
Problem or finger trouble?
I have noticed that when viewing 'New posts' only the ones which I have not read appear, the ones which I have read have disappeared.
Example 1: There were about 6 new posts at 11.00 this morning which I had a quick look at, intending to have a more leisurely look this evening. But they had disappeared by 16.00 this afternoon.
Example 2: At about 16.00, there were only 3 new posts displayed (this morning's had gone). At 18.00 (while still logged on) these too had disappeared.
Other forums which I use always show the last 24 hours posts, irrespective of whether posts have been read or not, which is much more useful and less frustrating.
I have been through every item in the 'User Control Panel' and cannot find any setting which could help.
Is there something I am missing?

Re: Problem Section
I think the "new posts" displayed are only the ones that were posted since your last visit.

That may be true, but not in this case:jbryce1437 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 1:42 pm I think the "new posts" displayed are only the ones that were posted since your last visit.

Re: Problem Section
Not sure about that Bill. I will have to ask Jack as my moderating options are limited and I have no access to the inner workings of the Forum.
Once you look at a post, it is no longer highlighted as new posts since last visit.
If I log in to the Forum on my Windows 10 laptop, I am automatically logged off after a period of inactivity, so I tend to look through all of the New Posts since last visit at each login.

Did you view any of the 3 new posts displayed that morning?

Yes, all three.jbryce1437 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 28, 2020 5:18 pmDid you view any of the 3 new posts displayed that morning?
Jim
Same thing happened today.
At 16.45: At 18.00 while still logged on, the 16.45 posts had all gone.
Funny thing is that yesterday all posts read at 18.00 stayed on until I logged off at 22.00

Once you view a post it is removed as a "New Post"
