The Polish diving and diving equipment company Santi each year goes to the North Sea for searching of the famous PL Navy sub ORP Orzel.
In short- a lot was presented in the old WNF - ORP Orzel in September 1939 escaped from internment in Tallin, Estonia (Baltic) and without maps reached safely "island of last hope", England. Like many subs disappeared on her patrol in the North Sea and so far the wreck has not been found.
Instead, in Autumn 2017 the expedition discovered some other submarine which was positively recognized as HMS Narwahl.
About the HM sub a lot is put into internet pages but here some Polish links to the submarine.
Her CO LtCdr Ronald Burch was for 6 months first British Liaison Officer on the deck of ORP Wilk, another Polish navy submarine which succesfully escaped from Baltic to the UK. For his duty on the Polish ship he was awarded with a Polish medal.
In January 2018 families - many travelled long time to attend the meeting - of those 59 crewmembers of HMS Narwahl who perished with their ship met expedition members in the Ognisko Polskie (Polish Fireplace) Club in London.
Among the participants were members of LtCdr Burch family and others who came even from Paris.
All of them expressed that the discovery of the last rest place of the ship with their family members was very important for them.
Mrs Tamara Lo, the LtCdr Burch daughter said that " the meeting was very emotional and unusual. I have never expected such a discovery would have happened".
On the picture of the attached clip there is MRS Tamara Lo and David Burch among the expedition members.
As for ORP Orzel she will be searched for until is found.

GD

Re: HMS Narwahl found
Many thanks for the report GD. I am pleased that the whereabouts of another "lost" boat has been discovered. There are so many yet still to be found.
I hope that they find ORP Orzel soon.
