I'm thinking that if it is the PIN mast fwd of fwd island then it doesn't carry an anemometerImage (sonic or otherwise) .... simply a pair of lights - with the lower one inverted - the upper one having a bird protection cone atop the light. See the image below where the light(s) on the PIN mast fwd of fwd island is/are illuminated.

TVM Harry, so nice to hear from you, honest squirrel - I really would not know, I was only guessing, seems odd that mini mast appearing now, perhaps for benefit of the newby's ? Regardless, considering 'we' have been out of the true carrier game for over 10 years I think all concerned are doing very well. I do wonder how many have been transferred from Q.E. to PoW recently - manning figures etc.

TWEET EXTRACTS FROM NAVY LOOKOUT

Official govt website says "HMS Prince of Wales is in the High North leading the NATO’s Maritime High Readiness Force”

See attached which was on this website until deleted - https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-c ... r-to-natox

Not the case - at least for a few weeks anyway. Was off the UK South Coast yesterday with a few helicopters embarked for training.
