"Today saw the first ever landing of an F35B Lightning aboard R09 HMS Prince of Wales.

Look at the aft flight deck.
The carrier is undergoing operational crew training and flying trials off the SW English coast.
This not only marks a first for R09 but it also marks 2 additional firsts:
The first time 2 RN carriers have been at sea with F35s aboard concurrently, and secondly the first time ever a carrier (anywhere) has embarked both F35B Lightning and Apache attack helicopters together. Surely a potent signal in itself of the UK’s carrier borne air power potential.

HMS Prince of Wales

Not a view that you'll regularly see unless in clear and calm waters. Our bulbous bow in action.

Tweet from HMS Prince of Wales:

Annual awards from the WCoEngineers yesterday.
Presented to POET(ME) Finch for achievements in operational engineering & LET(ME) Baines for engineering innovation.
Where better to present the awards than a main engine space!

HMS Prince of Wale
Hello Gibraltar!
It's been a fair few years since the name
HMSPWLS has graced your shores.
We are looking forward to it.
