Video captures historic drone landing on HMS Prince of Wales

A video shows the moment a fixed-wing aircraft achieved its first conventional landing on HMS Prince of Wales off the Cornish coast.
The autonomous drone, commencing its journey from the Lizard Peninsula, not only delivered supplies to the aircraft carrier but also successfully returned, highlighting the immense potential of autonomous naval aviation.

HMS Prince of Wales remembers the 3,500 sailors lost in the Bismarck Chase

Upholding Nelson’s historic watchword of ‘humanity after victory’, sailors on Britain’s biggest warship paid their respects to one of the Royal Navy’s greatest 20th Century foes.
HMS Prince of Wales paused over the wreck of the Bismarck, Hitler’s flagship, to remember more than 2,000 German sailors lost when the battleship was pounded to a watery grave by the guns of the Royal Navy in May 1941.

The act of remembrance some 500 miles west of Brest concludes the tribute made by the crew of the Portsmouth-based aircraft carrier to the 3,500-plus sailors and aviators of both sides who were killed in the ‘Bismarck chase’.

The carrier sailed over the wreck of HMS Hood in April last year on her way to Reykjavik and remembered the 1,415 souls killed when the Bismarck’s shells penetrated the battle-cruiser’s armour plating and detonated a magazine.

F-35 Integrated Test Force (ITF) train personnel on HMS PWLS in handling of the MBDA Group Meteor beyond visual range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM).

Unfortunately, Meteor will not be integrated onto F-35B until 2027 due to Lockheed Martin delays in upgrading the aircraft's software.

Mojave Drone’s Carrier Debut Shown In Greater Detail In Video

The footage provides new perspectives on Mojave’s takeoffs and landings aboard HMS Prince of Wales.

See - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVR_EioIM8c

General Atomics has released a new video of testing of its Mojave drone aboard the U.K. Royal Navy’s aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales back in November. The montage of clips, seen below, offers previously unseen views of the drone in flight and making short takeoffs and landings from the ship, which does not have aircraft-launching catapults or arresting wires – at least for now.

In cooperation with the Royal Navy, General Atomics tested Mojave on board Prince of Wales on November 15 as the ship sailed off the coast of Virginia. You can read more about this, which marked the first time Mojave operated from an aircraft carrier as well as with the Royal Navy, in The War Zone's initial reporting here - https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/m ... ft-carrier
