Paveway IV bombs being loaded on board HMS QNLZ (UK high readiness strike carrier) at the Northern Ammunition Jetty, Glen Mallan yesterday.

HMS Queen Elizabeth, the UK high readiness strike carrier arrived for her second visit to the Northern Ammunition Jetty, Glen Mallan yesterday. She commenced loading of munitions for her air group including Paveway IV bombs. The dark blue colour indicates these are drill rounds being loaded first ahead of live weapons that would be loaded with more care (laser seeker and tail fins not fitted).

Thanks to available family members, I have once again managed a few hours respite from caring duties (6 months and a day since last outing). Went to take a look at HMS Queen Elizabeth R08 aircraft carrier at Liverpool. Not open to visitors but managed to get a few pics of this behemoth of a vessel.... proud to have served in the Royal Navy (1958-74). This photo taken by Grandson No 2 who drove me there and back.

Thanks Hon Mod Jim - yep a somewhat hurried visit and ship not open to visitors but really enjoyed it. Regrettably I think my camera settings were a little off because the focus seems to be less than sharp - Sorry folks.
