Command Light Cruiser USS Northampton pictured during light snow at Oslo on March 1st 1960...She was laid down as an Oregon City Class Heavy Cruiser (CA–125), on August 31st 1944 at Fore River Yard, Bethlehem Steel Corp., Quincy, Massachusetts. Work was suspended between August 11th 1945 and July 1st 1948; she was converted to a Command Cruiser under project SCB 13 and launched as CLC-1, on January 27th 1951.
