Icebreaker IRN Yermak pictured on the Tyne,alongside the Low Walker Yard fitting out,at Armstrong Whitworth,Newcastle-upon Tyne.Laid down in 1897,launched in 1898 and completed in 1899,she was built for the Imperial Russian Navy and was the first Polar Icebreaker in the world.She was in service until 1963 and was scrapped in 1964.
