Not a Tall Ship but the Trawler WILLDORA built in 1901 and a Dunkirk veteran which was lovingly restored by Sunderland Maritime Heritage group in preparation for the Tall Ships Event

Wow ..................Green with envy Jim .......and on your own front door as well you jammy sod !
What a Wonderful collection of Sail .......I had no idea there were still so many afloat and so handsomely manned , would love to have been out there watching them in full sail......what a site .

Yes Ivor, a great sight to see and I spent the best part of the six days that most of them were in the port looking around and enjoying it all. I even volunteered to help escort a group of kids from my grand daughters school along to the event. The sun shone brightly and it was red hot all week. The only down side was that, on the day they all sailed, I was taking photographs directly into the sun, which was difficult although I got a great tanivorthediver wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:07 am Wow ..................Green with envy Jim .......and on your own front door as well you jammy sod !

Well I think I might have tried to stow away .....even if only to be on deck whilst they spread their sails aloft , what an enchanting see to behold , again my thanks for posting them for us all to savour , very grateful
